In the final level of the program, students integrate their learning, demonstrate their clinical proficiency, and complete a personalized portfolio to support career preparation. This portfolio is also required for submission to the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario for registration.

Students are responsible for providing their own clients for the clinical component of the program. CADH offers assistance when necessary.
What You’ll Study
The curriculum combines foundational knowledge with practical clinical development. Students study subjects such as dental anatomy, radiography theory, microbiology and infection control, communication techniques, head and neck anatomy, pharmacology, periodontics, oral pathology, nutrition, research, and case studies, while progressing into pre-clinical and clinical practice.
From pre-clinical training to clinical practice and final portfolio development, the program is structured to help you build confidence step by step.

Admissions are selective, and space is limited. Applicants are encouraged to apply early for the best chance of securing a seat in an upcoming intake.

Students are accepted into the program in April and October of each year.
Admissions Process
- Submit a request for information form
- Attend an information session and clinic tour
- Complete the admissions assessment, including a reading comprehension test and essay
- Submit educational documents and supporting materials
- Complete an interview if eligible
The admissions assessment includes a reading comprehension test and essay. The assessment fee is $75 and is payable on the day of testing.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum Entry Requirements
Ontario applicants must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including required English and Biology prerequisites. Chemistry is recommended. Equivalent requirements apply for applicants from outside Ontario and outside Canada.
- International Applicant Note
Applicants educated outside Canada must have their documents assessed by WES, ICAS, or IQAS to confirm equivalency to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. English proficiency requirements may include TOEFL or IELTS, depending on the applicant’s academic background.
